Geely Battleship 700 Plug-In Hybrid SUV Set for Europe in 2027 With Up to 1,113 HP

Date:

The Geely Battleship 700, a rugged plug-in hybrid SUV offering up to 1,113 horsepower, is scheduled to enter the European market in the second half of 2027. Revealed at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, the Chinese SUV combines three available hybrid powertrains with off-road technology and a large battery designed for extended electric driving.

According to CarNewsChina, Geely officials disclosed the European launch timetable during the Paris event. The vehicle, developed under the KO11 codename, is already marketed in China as the Geely Galaxy Zhanjian 700 and is also scheduled to reach Australia in 2027. No US launch has been announced.

The European announcement follows the SUV’s October 10, 2026, Chinese launch. Rather than introducing another conventional crossover, Geely is preparing to export a large, five-seat plug-in hybrid with substantial power, dedicated off-road engineering, and equipment that differs considerably from its mainstream SUVs.

Three Plug-In Hybrid Powertrains, Including a 1,113-HP Flagship

The Battleship 700 uses Geely Terrain Architecture, abbreviated GTA, a platform developed for electrified off-road vehicles. Its three reported powertrain configurations offer significantly different performance levels.

The entry-level EM-T plug-in hybrid combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with one electric motor and front-wheel drive. Combined output is rated at 469 hp and approximately 446 lb-ft of torque.

A more powerful all-wheel-drive configuration adds two electric motors at the rear axle, raising combined output to approximately 925 hp and 859 lb-ft. At the top of the lineup, a 2.0-liter gasoline engine works with three electric motors to deliver a reported 1,113 hp and 981 lb-ft.

Geely quotes a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 3.95 seconds for the flagship version. These are specifications reported for the Chinese-market vehicle; European powertrain availability and homologated performance figures have not yet been detailed.

Large Battery and Off-Road Technology

The Chinese-market Battleship 700 uses a 47.14-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by CATL. Depending on the powertrain, reported electric-only range varies between approximately 168 and 190 miles under China’s CLTC testing cycle.

CarNewsChina also reports approximate WLTP-equivalent figures of 137-155 miles. These should not be confused with officially certified European WLTP ratings, and no EPA range estimate is available.

The SUV’s off-road specifications are equally notable. Ground clearance measures approximately 9.2 inches, while approach and departure angles are 30 and 31 degrees, respectively. Its available height-adjustable suspension is intended to help negotiate difficult terrain.

Geely has also introduced an emergency floating capability, sometimes described as a swimming mode. According to CarNewsChina’s Chinese launch coverage, the system is designed to allow limited movement through water under specific conditions. It should not be interpreted as permission for ordinary deep-water driving.

Full-Size SUV Dimensions and a Technology-Focused Cabin

Including its rear-mounted spare tire, the Battleship 700 measures approximately 200.2 inches long, 78.7 inches wide, and 75.3 inches tall. Its wheelbase stretches 114.2 inches, placing it firmly in large-SUV territory by American standards.

Despite its exterior dimensions, the cabin accommodates five occupants rather than offering a third row. Geely reports 1,050 liters of luggage capacity, equivalent to approximately 37.1 cubic feet, although the measurement method has not been established as directly comparable with US cargo-volume standards.

The dashboard features a 15.4-inch central touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a separate passenger display, and a head-up display. Available comfort equipment includes massaging front seats, a built-in refrigerator, and a folding table for a rear passenger.

Driver-assistance technology includes the G-Pilot H7 system, roof-mounted lidar, and an Nvidia computing platform rated at 700 TOPS. Its navigation-assisted driving functions are driver-assistance features, not evidence of fully autonomous operation.

European Launch Confirmed, but Pricing and US Plans Remain Unknown

The most significant development from Paris is the timetable: Geely intends to bring the Battleship 700 to Europe between July and December 2027. The company has not disclosed European prices, market-by-market availability, or which Chinese configurations will be offered.

In China, CarNewsChina reports a regular price range of 189,800-379,800 yuan, approximately $28,000-$57,000 at indicative exchange rates. Its earlier October 10 launch report listed lower introductory prices of 179,800-369,800 yuan. These are Chinese-market figures, not projected European or American retail prices.

For American readers, the distinction is important. The Battleship 700’s European expansion does not establish a future US launch, and Geely has not announced American specifications, pricing, or regulatory certification for the SUV.

The remaining questions concern how much of the Chinese vehicle’s hardware will carry over to Europe, particularly its highest-output powertrain, battery specifications, driver-assistance functions, and specialized off-road equipment. Those details will determine what European buyers actually receive when deliveries begin.
